Vasilisa Sabashnikova comes from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The ability to retell stories written by life, she probably inherited from her great-grandmother Olga Sergeevna, who was known in her close circle as ‘Chekhov in a skirt’. Vasilisa lives in Germany and writes for adults and children. In 2006 Vasilisa Sabashnikova became a finalist for the National Children’s Literary Award. Literary Award, and in 2007 she was one of the winners of the European Festival for the Best Russian Language in St. Petersburg.
